Greenplum and MPP BI both are based on PostgreSQL. MPP BI keeps data centric logic very close to data, and uses Greenplum natural syntax. That’s why the platform performs very robust and fast visualization on massive data volumes.
A user opens MPP BI interface to get a visual report.
MPP BI Server authorizes the user, checks access rights, manage personal settings and process other metadata for visual reports.
MPP BI stores only meta-data locally. All analytical data remain in Greenplum DB.
MPP BI Server sends a push down query to process raw data inside Greenplum MPP Database. That’s why it can handle any data volumes.
Greenplum Database returns the result to the MPP BI Server, MPP BI interface creates interactive charts and shows them to a user.
